Library Sint-Andries

In 2012 Studio Farris won the competition organized by the city of Bruges for the construction of the new library of Sint-Andries. The assignment was to make the library more visible in its environment and to ensure that it had a clear identity all of its own. The architects designed a volume in corten steel that in material and form contrasts nicely with the classical architecture of the older part of the building.

The inside of the buiding is light and airy. The wall lamps from DCW Editions provide extra light for readers. The footstools and seats of Paola Lenti provide appropriate colourful accents.
